Arrgh! I (think) my waitress was Shirley. She did a great job taking care of me at my late lunch. Always a great meal for your money here. 99¢ Coney dogs on Monday and Tuesday. Military / police / fire / EMS get 10% discount.

Back in Michigan for a few days and stopped by for a quick lunch. Service exemplary and as friendly as in the past. Had liver and onions which was cooked with a hint of pinkness. Just the way I liked it. My wife and brother in law did some crazy damage to the Coney Island dogs. I can't even face looking at any kind of dog but their plates were spotless in record time. They both said these dogs were great. I'll be back again tomorrow for breakfast I'm sure.

We walked in at 5 min before closing. We did not see the hours. Once we found out we went to leave...the owner stopped us and insisted we stay, "have anything you want!" He was so genuine and accomodating that we have continued to go back. This is a true family restaurant with GREAT value for your money. GREAT food! (The breakfast is amazing!) GREAT service! (Erica is our fav waitress!) Clean! Go here! It's great! :)

Amazing food and great service. So happy we found this place. The burgers are huge and the taste is amazing. Corned beef was a little fatty, but sliced thin, very flavorful and piled high!! National coney chili and cheese. Sooooooo good!

Sunday breakfast - we had to wait 40 minutes for 2 omelets. They were good, but the bacon was horrible and leathery. Service was meh... we got attitude from the younger waitress about asking how long our food would take.

I've been here a couple of times before I wrote this. First time we went, service was awful. The waitress looked maybe 16 at most, and the other waitress was running circles around her trying to make sure people weren't too pissed off. However, the food is good. We went for breakfast and dinner. Love that the bacon was crispy, french toast very good. We got a chicken dish for dinner the first time we went, and it was really well marinated! I believe the owner always makes rounds and asks how we are doing, how we like the food, for suggestions, etc. Really cares about his business. I respect that. Definitely will be a repeat customer!

I've been here four times. Twice for breakfast, and thought it was a good deal and tasty. This would be a four star review for breakfast. But...lunch and dinner were major disappointments. Mediocre food, and this last visit was even worse. I had the spinach pie, and it was the worst ever. Tasted bad, overdone phyllo and not much spinach. I think there was a lot of egg inside, which is just wrong. My friend had fries with her order, and they were the frozen, wavy cut with no crispness on the outside. The decaf didn't taste good, though the server made me a fresh pot when I ordered it. It was hot, but the flavor wasn't good. I think the water wasn't helping. The other thing that was not good was the service. The lone waitress was pleasant, but took a long time to get our order. After we were finished, she seemed too busy chatting with other customers to want to bring our bill. I may return for breakfast, but don't think I'll be back for any other meal.

Absolutely amazing food. The grilled chicken is marinated so perfectly so anything with chicken rocks, the soups are delicious, corn beef is yummy, basically the food rocks. Plus it's clean! Love this place.

This meets the standards for a Metro Detroit area diner. The service was exceptional. Was there for breakfast with a friend. The grits were lumpy obviously instant. I had an omelet the vegetables were not properly sauteed before being included with the omelette. And I guess you could call it rustic because they were very big pieces of vegetable in my omelet. Large portions! My companion enjoyed the egg white omelet and hash browns. Biggest sin of all the coffee was weak.

Good food, but very basic and no frills. The weekly breakfast special is a good deal. However, I was disappointed with their sausage gravy - it was very thin and watery. John's is a decent corner diner though, with friendly service and great coffee. I also like to support my local Mount Clemens businesses!

We frequently go to small family dinners for Sunday breakfast and I am constantly disappointed with so called omelets that turn out to be nothing more than scrambled eggs with meat and vegetables mixed in. John's has the BEST omelets in the area. They are actual omelets that are stuffed generously with ingredients and they are absolutely delicious! I have tried almost all of them, but my favorite by far is the club. If you are looking for the best omelet around, then you should definitely tries John's.

A Yelp 5 Star is "Woohoo! As good as it gets". John's Family Grill is as good as it gets. When was the last time you have been to a restaurant where the owner/chef comes out almost each and every meal to make sure everything is OK. (He might not be able if it gets too busy.) I have not had this type of customer service experience before. Breakfast is great. Lunch and dinner is high quality. Mark (the chef) learned his trade throughout Europe i.e. Rome, Paris, Amsterdam. Lets support this newest neighborhood jewel. You will find me there at the very least every Sunday morning with my newspaper enjoying the ambiance. The wait staff will meet your every need, just let them know your expectations. I live close enough to walk, just like in times past. Customer service and the continuous improvement of quality is about the little things, like, pancakes in the shape of Mickey Mouse for the little ones. To do this even though the chef is working hard in the back he must be observant of who walks in the door. I have repeatedly seen the very last customers (just before closing) who do not want to impose on the owner and say they will come back another time, but find that the chef insists that they sit down and they will be served. They are served with the attention the first customer of the day receives and leave when they are done. Or walking in before closing for just a cup of coffee and again I do not want to impose and ask for only water, but it is insisted a pot of crash coffee be brewed just for me. People of all walls of life and ethnicity treated with the same high quality of service. Folks, this is a restaurant of world-class quality in my mind. Within its four walls is practiced the continuous improvement of the quality of life, service and product. John's meets all these facets. And when we talk about quality of life, John's Family Grill sponsors every Christmas Eve a customer appreciation day where a free meal is served to all who come in. Whether you are a homeowner or homeless a piping hot meal is yours for free. Voluntary donations are also taken for a homeless shelter or two in the area. This is the continuous improvement of the quality of life, folks. Enjoy! PS. There is ample free parking across the street.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

Greek Cuisine

Greek food is a fine melody of the finest pressed olive oil, fresh fermented bread, colorful vegetables, juicy meat, sea food all cooked in spices and fresh rosemary. The people from Greek were great scholars who aimed to excel in everything they do. The results are quite visible in their food as they are the inventors of olive oil which is beneficial to health. Greeks also made different type of wines from the best quality of grapes fermented in controlled environment.

Today, you can find hundreds of restaurants offering authentic Greek food or popularly termed as Mediterranean cuisine in New York city alone. People wait in line to taste the exotic Greek dishes like saganaki, taramasalata, souvlaki, loukoumades, spanakopita, moussaka, and many more. One thing which most people like about these authentic Greek dishes is abundant use of lemon juice, olive oil, fresh rosemary and sea salt. A smart mix of few ingredients can virtually take you on the pebble streets of beautiful city of Greece.

For those who don't have time to enjoy fine dining should try tasting the famous souvlaki with pita which is type of meat dish, also a trademark Greek fast food. For those who are vegetarian, or vegan can try different versions of Greek Salad. So, if you wish to enjoy a hearty yet healthy meal that tastes divine then try dining at the best Greek restaurant in your city. Greek cuisine not only tastes good but also help maintain your body in a natural way through healthy diet.
